Violent Incident at Norwood High School Raises Urgent Concerns

A deeply disturbing incident occurred at Norwood High School on November 20, 2025, in which a student was violently assaulted by two other students while a third filmed the attack. The student and her family had reportedly spent weeks alerting school administrators and teachers about social-media threats and bullying. Despite these warnings, no protective measures were put in place, and the family was not notified by the school when the assault occurred.

According to the family, multiple staff members witnessed the attack and did not intervene. The parents learned of the incident from other students—not from the school. This raises serious questions about safety protocols, staff response, and communication with families.

This is unacceptable. No child in Norwood should ever feel unsafe in school, and no parent should be left in the dark when their child is harmed.

The Norwood Taxpayer Alliance is calling for:

  • A full, transparent investigation into what happened
  • A review of all bullying-prevention and threat-reporting procedures
  • Clear accountability for staff response during student altercations
  • Mandatory, immediate notification to families when safety incidents occur
  • A comprehensive plan to ensure this never happens again

We are committed to supporting the family involved and ensuring the Town takes the necessary steps to protect every student. Safety is not negotiable.

Our schools must be places where children are protected, listened to, and supported—and where concerns raised by families are taken seriously and acted upon.

The Norwood Taxpayer Alliance will continue to monitor this situation and advocate for the changes our community deserves.

If any family has experienced similar issues and wishes to speak confidentially, please reach out.
